Platinum PADI Course Director Andy Auer
Andy, like all his friends call him, started diving on a presentation of the local Fire Department when he was 10 years old in a Swimming Pool in Innsbruck Austria his home town. Right away one thing was clear for him:” Diving will be important in his life”
Andy moved in 1994 for “ half a year” to Playa del Carmen, Mexico, where he worked in a 5 Star Resort. On his day off he was always with the local Dive Instructor “translating” the PADI Courses from English and Spanish into German for the Austrian and German Resort Guest. By doing so he started his Diving career and accomplished his Open Water, Advanced Open Water and Rescue Diver Course in 1994.
Slowly slowly Diving became from something to do on his day off, to an important part of his life and so Andy became a Divemaster and started working on a Local Dive Boats in Puerto Vallarta MexicoIn the beautiful “Bahia de Banderas”.
In 2000 Andy became a PADI Instructor and worked at a 5 Star Resort in Puerto Vallarta Mexico and the beautiful Pacific Ocean. A place rich on Marine Animals and Mammals like Humpback Whales, Bottlenose and Spinner Dolphins, Manta Ray’s, Nurse Sharks and Seahorses.
2003 Andy moved to the Maldives where he worked as a Dive Center Assistant Manager in one of the most exclusive Resorts in the Atoll Nation the Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Kuda Huraa.
Tsunami on 26th of December 2004 hit the Resort and it was closed for “renovation” for 2 years and Andy started working on a high class 160 cabin Cruise Ship Cruising the wonderful azure waters of the South Pacific. On board the ” Ms Paul Gauguin Andy cruised around islands in French Polynesialike , Bora Bora, Rangiroa, Marquesas Islands, the Cook Islands, Fiji until Australia for almost 4 years.
In 2008 Andy moved back to the Maldives where he managed the IDC Resort Dive Center at the Four Seasons Resort Landaa Giraavaru and one 6 Star Liveaboard “The Four Seasons Explorer”
While working in the Maldives running a high profile PADI Dive Center for the Four Seasons Resort, Andy became partner of PADI Dive Center ” Diving Indo ” in Bali – Sanur and by then it was clear that to be able to achieve all his dream hes must run his own IDC – Center and Internship programs, because this is what Andy likes to do most.
Andy is now teaching PADI IDC’s and PADI Internships with a unique success rate at his Project Dive in partnership with Dive Asia & the Four Seasons Resorts Maldives. He has experience in diving all around the world such as Freshwater Lakes in Austria, the South Pacific Waters of French Polynesia, Marquesas Islands and Fiji, the Caribbean of Mexico, Cuba the Atlantic Ocean in the Dominican Republic, the Indian Ocean in the Maldives, Malaysia and Thailand and Indonesia. He has over 5200 logged dives and still loves Diving. His favorite Diving is in shallow water where we have great visibility and plenty of marine life. Also trying out new things such as DPV’s and new Equipment always is exciting and fun. But most of all Andy is very dedicate in his role as a PADI Course Director and loves to teach IDC’s and opens the door to this wonderful lifestyle for as many people as possible.
