Comments:

If the Divemaster candidate does not already have at least one version of the RDP, the PADI Dive Center, Resort or Instructor conducting the course must ensure the diver has a set of both versions for planning course dives and for use after the course. The PADI Divemaster course requires the candidate to personally have and know how to use both versions of the RDP.

*The PADI Divemaster course requires both the Diving Knowledge Workbook and The Encyclopedia of Recreational Diving for candidates to use when studying for the theory exams unless the candidate completes Dive Theory Online in which case the candidate only needs to have their own The Encyclopedia of Recreational Diving. If teaching the revised Divemaster course (version 3.0, released 4th quarter 2010) the Diving Knowledge Workbook (or Dive Theory Online) is recommended material but The Encyclopedia of Recreational Diving remains a required material for the course. While it’s strongly recommended that Divemaster candidates have the PADI’s Guide to Teaching, the PADI Instructor Manual is required for all versions of the PADI Divemaster course.
