Spending 3 months living at Maldives is a once-a-live-time experience to me. I have not only become a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor after the 3 months internship programme, but also had my best diving experience in life. Andy, my course director, is a friendly mentor. He teaches seriously with a strong sense of humor. We learned happily and derived much benefits from his 10 days IDC programme, particularly, his passion for diving.

The 3 months learning path of this internship program is well structured to practically and dynamically prepare us to be a well-equipped instructor. We mainly assist the diving instructor in Four Seasons Dive Centre in delivering diving courses in the first month. While next month is for theory learning and skill exercises, we have to pass an examination on our knowledge on both theory and skills before we started to work as a diving instructor in the third month.
My appreciation should also be given not only to Andy but to the Four Seasons Landaa Giraavaru family. Everybody I met there is nice and friendly. The friends at the Dive Centre are very willing to share their funny and unforgettable diving experience and valuable diving knowledge and skills with me. I realize how important team work is in diving from these gifted friends.

Having three months here to be trained as a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor is worthwhile for me to enrich my diving experience and brighten my life! I will definitely conclude this a-quarter diving adventure as gorgeous without a second thought. Once again, may I say thanks to Andy and the Four Seasons Landaa Giraavaru family!

My IDC programme in the Maldives was a truly unique, once in a lifetime experience that I will never forget. Not only did I learn an amazing set of skills to help me in my future career, but I passed my Instructor Examination with 100% in theory and top marks in the practical sections. I could not have done this without the amazing help of Andy and all the team at Four Seasons. From the moment you arrive, you feel at home with the team and staff on the island. Day-to-day life was also great fun with plenty to do in the evenings and on my days off. Furthermore, at the end of my internship, I was offered a full-time position with the dive team which I have accepted. Overall, an excellent experience and I would recommend this programme to everybody. Thanks Andy!

Living in the Maldives over the past three months has been one of the best experiences of my life and a dream come true.
The instructor Development Course run by Course Director Andy Auer is definitely one of the best choices for anyone who wants to become a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor and, in the same time, work in the most beautiful place on earth. The course structure is extremely well thought and ensures 100% success. On top of that, having the opportunity to explore the beautiful Maldivian underwater world, makes it priceless.

The IDC internship has been extremely rewarding and enriching to me. During the four weeks prior the IDC, I had the opportunity to expand my diving knowledge and gain more experience by working closely with highly professional PADI Instructors. that made sure we are well prepared and confident before the Instructor Examination. Furthermore, working as an instructor after passing the IE made it an invaluable experience.

Andy is an exceptional instructor and together with Landaa Giraavaru Dive Team offered me all the support that I needed throughout the internship and made me feel part of the team. I would like to thank everyone at the Four Seasons Landaa Giraavaru for making me feel welcomed and for the unforgettable moments that we shared during the past three months.

I will definitely recommend this internship to anyone who has a passion for diving and is considering becoming an instructor.

Once again, thank you Andy and Landaa Giraavaru dive team for this amazing experience!

Doing my Instructor Development Course here in the Maldives with The Four Seasons Resort has been an incredible experience unlike any other. Course director Andy Auer is an astounding instructor and friend. His positive attitude and encouragement is what carried me through the IDC and Instructor Examination.

Throughout the four weeks prior to the IE Andy made sure that myself and the other interns were confident and fluent with all the skills and dive theory as well as making sure we didn’t miss out on exploring the unique and beautiful Maldivian underwater world. We had many opportunities to expand our diving knowledge and gain experience by leading guests on boat dives, as well as shadowing professional PADI dive instructors during courses.

Being a part of the multi-cultural Landaa Giraavaru dive team and living in the Maldives over the past three months has been amazing! I would like to thank everyone at the Four Seasons for making me feel welcome and for supporting me over the duration of my internship.

I would highly recommend this internship to anyone who is passionate about becoming a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor. As PADI always says diving is fun, and this internship is no exception. It’s an experience you’ll never forget!

Once again a big thank you to Course Director Andy Auer & the Four Season Landaa Giraavaru dive team.

Few months ago I made the choice to become a PADI Instructor with an IDC and IE in a foreign country where the waters are warmer and clearer than in Italy.Course Director Andy Auer in the Maldives was the right choice and thanks to the wonderful organization and planing of details i successfully became a PADI Instructor now.
Course Director Andy Auer gave me full support and even arranged all study materials and exams during the IE in my own language and all this was very helpful for me and i passed my Instructor Examination very easy.
I can highly recommend the PADI Instructor Internship in the Maldives with Course Director Andy Auer to anyone!

Course Director Andy Auer’s Four Seasons Landaa Giraavaru (“LG”) IDC program has been life changing. To begin with, Andy is a phenomenal instructor who ensures that students not only master the material, but also go into the IDC feeling confident and relaxed. With such an instructor, the actual IDC really was 100% fun. During my intern period, the focus was very much on learning the material and skills necessary to become a good instructor. That being said, Andy also made sure that we had plenty of opportunities to get wet and experience Maldivian diving. From Mantas to Leaf Fish – all may be found in these waters.

Furthermore, the dive team is truly one of a kind, and all have a special place in my heart; they provided support in all ways they possibly could, and I have learned much from their experience and advice. From pointing out where to find marine life on dive trips, to spending hours explaining how to service a regulator, they have been there at a moment’s notice.

In addition to making life long friends with the dive team and other Four Seasons staff, I also have gained best friends in the form of the other interns, and their friendship is priceless. This program brings together likeminded individuals who are passionate about diving and the Marine world – its a recipe for lifelong bonds.

The backdrop to this life milestone is also incomparable – truly a postcard perfect tropical paradise, whether by day staring out onto the pristine crystal waters, or by night, blanketed by thousands of stars. To be able to view such a landscape is a gift in itself.

I went into this program expecting to become an instructor, and have come out touched and changed by the people and experiences provided; a truly different individual.

Thank you Andy Auer and LG dive team!

Choosing to do my IDC and internship here at Four Seasons Landaa Giraavaru was one of the best decisions of my life. Andy is an exceptional instructor, the way he structures the program allows ample time for preparation and his positive attitude carried us through even the most intense days during the IDC and IE. I really enjoyed working with the dive team here as well as everyone is excellent and unique in their own way and were all so supportive and helpful throughout the process which made it much easier to be successful.

The first month working as a Divemaster here was great to become comfortable with the environment and the theory lessons and skill circuit practices were key to making me confident during the IDC and IE. Before we even started the IDC I felt prepared and ready which helped immensely. The IDC itself was actually great fun, our group really pulled together and worked as a great team supporting and helping each other through our weaknesses and Course Director Andy Auer really had a great strategy of preparation to ensure our success. The positive atmosphere and group dynamic made me thoroughly enjoy every minute of what was supposed to be the most stressful time.

Working as an instructor after passing the IE has also been an invaluable experience especially with the calibur of the crew here at Four Seasons. I always felt at ease knowing that I had the support and assistance of such an elite team and the encouragement of the instructors here made a world of difference. I feel incredibly grateful for having been part of such a team and for being able to
become an instructor at such a stunning and spectacular place as the Four Seasons Landaa Giraavaru.

Thank you Andy and Dive Team Landaa Giraavaru!

The IDC run by Course Director Andy Auer out here is a special experience. The butterflies in the belly at the start of the course soon disappear and turns into excitement as to what the IDC course brings. The course structure has been extremely well thought out and that is due to Andy’s experience in running the programs. Passing the exam is a tremendous relief and you are given the chance to start work with and certify students with the support of the dive staff right there.

I was not just out here for the IDC, fact that this is in the Maldives speaks volumes and the Four Seasons Resorts are on another level. A whole host of inter-nationalities await you in the dive center and all make you feel part of the team form day one, the support they give before the IDC and as a newly qualified instructor really builds your confidence that you need to conquer the diving world.

If diving with 5 manta rays on your first dive out here, then over several months seeing several species of sharks, turtle, nudibrachs, other abundant aquatic life, working in a top dive center, being
trained by a great course director, in one of the most beautiful parts of the world and experiencing a full lunar eclipse with shooting stars is not for you then I would not sign up. For me it sounds fantastic.

Thanks Andy and the Dive Teams.

Doing my IDC in the Maldives with the Four Seasons has been one of the best opportunities for my diving career. The way Andy organized the internship was impressive and allowed me to learn how to be an instructor through real work experience. The four weeks preparation time before the start of the IDC allowed me to shadow different instructors and I quickly felt as part of the dive team. Everyone from the dive team is very friendly, helpful and made me feel very welcome.

The best part of the internship, was after I very successfully passed the instructor exam and started working as a dive instructor for guests and staff. I always got the support and feedback I needed throughout the internship, which has let me to become confident in my abilities as a dive instructor. Course Director Andy Auer is an amazing role model and coach. I am really glad to have had the opportunity to work with him and his dive team during this important and life changing time in my life. I would highly recommend this internship to any one who wants to become a dive instructor.

Thank you Andy and the whole team for all your support during this amazing experience!

PADI Course Director Andy Auer has been my instructor through my whole dive career since I completed my Open Water course. Ever since I have been hooked and knew I wanted to become an instructor.
The IDC was extremely well organized and structured. It was at times challenging, but we always managed to have fun together. At the end, we were all very well prepared for the Instructor Examination.
I have now been working for the Landaa Giraavaru Four Seasons Resort for a year, and I am so excited to continue my career here as a new instructor. The dive team is composed of a great diverse group of friendly and helpful people. I really believe that the Maldives is one of the best dive locations in the world. I have now dives more than 30 diverse sites with the Four Seasons. During this experience alone, we’ve seen whale sharks, mantas, turtles, and various species of sharks.
I would highly recommend this internship to anyone who has a passion for diving and wants to share that passion with others. I feel lucky to have had this opportunity and look forward to continuing my career as a dive instructor at the Four Seasons.
Thank you Andy and the team!

Doing my IDC in the Maldives was a dream come true. And specially to be able to do it in a top resort like the Four Seasons. It gave me just a better experience than I would have had somewhere else. Also the whole concept of doing a instructor internship where they not only want to make you a instructor but also give you some time to get real life experience and feed back is I think really great. This way they make you a much better instructor. I’ve the feeling it’s more about quality instead of quantity.
All of the staff was very helpful and great to work with. Quickly I felt part of the team. Also to have Andy as a teacher and coach helped me a lot. He is a very inspiring person, being funny, giving good advices and arranging everything for his students. This way I could fully focus on becoming a instructor and not having to worry about anything else.
I was diving almost everyday and seeing Manta’s and turtles what was just amazing. Somewhere it’s sad to leave after the 3 month’s of internship spending so much time together. But now there is a new world for me out there to teach and explore.

Thank you Andy and Team for this wonderful experience!!!

My IDC internship at the Four Seasons Resort in the Maldives was enriching, educational, and life changing. The program was extremely well structured, yet flexible enough to give me the freedom of exploring my own personal dive interests. I found it useful to shadow different dive instructors since each of them had their own teaching style. The 3 weeks before the IDC actually started were invaluable. I got to know the dive sites, perfect my dive theory, and learn the logistics of running a successful dive centre. Andy and the dive team were always supportive and eager to share their knowledge. I was especially grateful for the opportunity of certifying clients in one of the best dive sites in the world. The IDC internship surpassed my expectations and I came out of the internship confident in my abilities as an instructor. I would highly recommend this internship to anyone interested in becoming a dive instructor.

Thanks Andy and the crew for this wonderful experience!
