I just want to say thank you for an outstanding IDC. I honestly have not seen an IDC run smoother. You have a great operation and the students work effortlessly with you. I look forward to staffing another IDC with you in the future. You have a well organized operation, and that translates into students having more time to plan, understand, and practice what they need to do.

Now if you can just get us on to the yacht for the next IDC I think you really have every base covered.

Thanks Andy!!

Thank you a lot for the IDC provided by you!

I have spent a certain amount of time to compare IDC’s around the world and I have to say that I had very “lucky hand“. I have chosen yours!
The whole IDC and IE process was very smooth and comfortable for me as I could be concentrated just for the main objectives. You and your assistants managed logistic part of the process very well.
Everything what was promised on your web pages and in our email communication was kept. From financial point of view I did not face with any hidden costs, unclear invoices etc.
I felt really well prepared for IE and the IE result says the same. I am sure that PADI has to be proud of your professional attitude and services provided by you.

As a conclusion:
If my best friend will ask me for IDC recommendation, there is just one choice – Andy’s IDC!

Thank you and best regards

one *BIG Thank You* to you Andy! I must admit, before I came to Phuket I was mightily intimidated by the MOUNTAIN of information I thought I had to go through to prepare myself for the IDC. I studied WAY too much! I am not saying it was easy-peasy and no preparation was necessary. No! Surely I had to prep myself before coming – but again, I did much too much studying! Dive Theory online would have completely sufficed! And that is what I recommend to everyone who thinks of doing an IDC: “Do Dive Theory online once, maybe twice – that’s it. During the IDC Andy will make sure you are prepped for your IE!” And Andy, when you said that IE stands for “It’s Easy” I was like “yeah, right!” — but, I must say, having done it: it was easy indeed! And that’s only due to your great prep work in the classroom and in the pool! The skill circuit was another nightmare I had – not having done the skills in 5 years I thought I will never be able to make it. But: Andy, you made sure I did! Thanks for that!!!
And thanks also for the fun around the IDC – Mr. Gonzalez’ adventures were truly entertaining & unforgettable! :-)

Thanks again, Andy, and all the best to you: future instructors!

After intensive internet research and a couple of recommendations from fellow dive buddies, I decided to do my IDC with Dive Asia and Course Director Andy Auer.
Fortunately we were a very small group of students, therefore it felt like Andy was our private tutor. Andy is very structured and everything was well prepared, that made the IDC an enjoyable course and ultimately the success of passing the IE. I completed my Dive Master course quite a while ago. Due to that I had some concerns with the dive theory, however I received tremendous support from Andy and my fellow course buddies to refresh these subjects.Andy was very committed, had a lot of patience and was very engaging throughout the entire journey of the course. On top of that, Andy’s sense of humor made the course an enjoyable and memorable experience.

Despite the large number of IDCs conducted in Phuket, in my option, Dive Asia has the best setup and offers a great “all-in-one-service” – e.g:
Class rooms are well equipped and all material is up-to-date; the convenience of the class room located in the same building as the guest rooms and the training pool is only a stone throw away, therefore no carrying around of dive equipment and tanks etc.

For fellow divers who are considering to pursue the dream of becoming a Padi Dive Instructor, I highly recommend Dive Asia with Course Director Andy Auer simply because of its efficient logistic setup and Andy’s passion of teaching.

Thank you very much, Andy, for your inspiration and support throughout the IDC.

I attended the July IDC with Course Director Andy Auer at Dive Asia in Phuket this year (2012). Prior to the IDC, my friends had recommended me many different course directors based on their own personal experiences and some even advised against coming to Phuket. However, I had a feeling that doing the IDC with Andy would be the right decision for me and against all the peer pressure, I had decided to go with my feeling. It was the decision that I never regretted. Not that I have ever attended different IDC elsewhere but from what I heard from my many friends, I am really satisfied with the quality and service I have received from Andy. For one, our group was very small and personalized. It had become more of a close knitted group of friends than just mere acquaintances and Andy was always present and available for help and consultation. Just like pretty much everyone else, I entered the IDC with many fear and doubts of my own capability. But I entered the IE full confidence in my ability not just to pass but to excel. I really have to give it to Andy for building that confidence, not just in me but in all of my teammates too.

Besides, I, along with all my teammates, was living literally next to the classroom, only separated by a wall. You will really learn to appreciate this when you stay up studying a little later at night and know you only need less than 3 minute to walk to your class in the morning. And don’t forget about the pool, cuz it’s right there in front of you also. I’d have to say,, not bad at all…

I did my PADI Instructor Course with Course Director Andy Auer and Dive Asia in early July. I have been diving since I was 12 years old and couldn’t have asked for a better opportunity or preparation to pursue my dream. I have always known I wanted to become a PADI Instructor and Andy helped me on my way to achieve my goal. Andy simplified all the complicated stuff and helped you realize your full potential. Although you’re never as sure as you can be, going through your IDC or IE, I really believe that if you waited for the right time, you would never be ready and a good preparation like I have had with Andy and Dive Asia helped a lot . I’m so glad I chose Dive Asia and Andy as my Course Director. It was hard choosing between so many companies but I went with a good reputation and someone that genuinely cares about the success of his students. If that’s what you’re looking for, then look no further than Andy. He is in it 100%, and you can’t find that many other places. You won’t regret it. I consider myself lucky.

At first, thank you so much for Course Director Andy Auer!!!!!
My IDC was so exciting and a lot of fun with two course mates and Andy at Dive Asia Phuket, Thailand in May 2012.

Before IDC was started, I didn’t think I could complete the course and go to I.E.. However, once the course was running, my mind has been changed because of Andy. He organized and conducted the program very well. Also I could feel that he had a big passion for training candidates to good instructors.
He made us to be a nice team that we could work together all time, discuss and practice lots for written exam and skills. It was really helpful. If there is no team work, I don’t think I am an instructor now!!
Another worry was that I couldn’t speak English fluently and I might not follow the class.
But, I can say it doesn’t need to think at all. The class was not too fast and understood easily.
Also Andy made good atmosphere for asking many questions. Even it was very small thing.
Even I was nervous (I am sure it will be almost candidate’s feeling), but, I felt being ready for the I.E. very well.
Addition, special thanks to the Staff Instructor Artin who helped us along as well :-)

The accommodation which was Kata Big Rock was next to the pool and CDC. It was really convenience and we didn’t need to be exhausted because of it.

I would love to strongly recommend the person who is interesting IDC and wants to become a good instructor
to join the program with Course Director Andy Auer and Dive Asia at Phuket!!!

Doing the in Phuket Thailand IDC with PADI Course Director Andy Auer was wonderful and exciting at the same time and Dive Asia is the perfect environment for the program making everything possible and easy and most important convenient for the students during the program .It was like everything was in place and the IDC schedule was well organized. All the sessions were well balanced and we never had to spend too much time in the classroom. On our Open Water Dives we even went out on the Boat to Racha Ialands and where able to see something from Thailand during the IDC and could even see some fish during our Open Water Presentations. Also we never during the IDC we felt stressed or had to deal with something unexpected. It was an truly amazing experience and i wish i could do the IDC again (maybe not the IE hahaha)

Thank you very much Andy for everything loved it bro cant wait to come back for more diving.

I have to say that I’ve known Course Director Andy Auer for quite a while. He was mymy instructor for the Rescue Diver and PADI Dive Master Course. and it was just natural for me to call him when I needed to do my IDC. And it was great!! He hasn’t changed and he is still a great instructor full of knowledge and enthusiasm about diving and ……he has an answer to everything…

We were very very lucky because we were a small group and so it was a sort of a private and personalized IDC. We could really spend lots of time with Andy and as usually he was very keen to answer all of our questions and giving us great tips for teaching! Hahahaha and the penalty for doing or saying a very stupid thing like:” PADI = put another dollar in … ” you will have to buy ice cream for everyone in the group – not that bad!!

Andy made sure we were very well prepared for the IE and we wouldn’t have any “bad” surprises . During the Instructor Examination. He was with us all the time and provided us everything we needed, even a hug!

It was definitely the most interesting course I have done and I had such a great time! We even had the chance to try rebreathers, that was an amazing experience…

If anyone would ask me about IDC and course director I would definitely would recommend Course Director Andy Auer and Dive Asia in Phuket Thailand!

Thanks again for everything Andy!

Andy’s enthusiasm and his unique way of ‘let’s make it happen’ teaching method helped me learn whole a lot from him and even more importantly build a great sense of appreciation and confidence for entering the diving industry as an new PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor.
He was always there from the very beginning of the pre-IDC theory session to the very last day of the IE supporting us to refine our teaching skills in great detail. By the end of the IDC, each of us knew exactly how to ace on all the presentations from Knowledge Development to confined and open water.
Furthermore, during the intense period of IE preparation, he managed to turn all the work we had to do into good fun. For instance, the “penalty” for the mistakes we made during the preparation session was the chocolate ice cream for everyone! Can’t get better than that:)

All-in-all, I think that Andy, Artin and Guy made the February PADI IDC program an fun, impeccable one as a team with long lasting memory’s. I would like to thank Course Director Andy Auer, and the 2 Staff Instructors Artin and Guy for helping me out every step all the way to the IE.

Thank you again.”

I have been lucky enough to work with Course Director Andy Auer in the past so I jumped at the chance to work as a staff Instructor for Andy in Phuket.
Even after 6 years as an Instructor I was amazed that Andy was able to show me so many tips In the water that not only made sense but made things easier.
The course was a pleasure to be part of and Andy and his Staff Artin (The ice cream man) made every day fun and relaxed which Is vital as the candidates learn the skills and knowledge needed to be successful Instructors.
I have worked with 8 course directors during my diving career and I have no doubt that Andy is the best to learn from as he is always positive and open to new ideas and his enthusiasm is addictive and add to this the support of Project Dive and Dive Asia and its a winning combination.
The greatest compliment I can add Is that during the course I wished that I was able to go back in time and be lucky enough to do my Idc with Andy whether it be in Phuket or the Maldives and experience the support and help that Andy offers to his students in not only passing the exams but to be successful in the careers in the years to come.
Thanks Andy and Artin for the great times and see you next year for more IDC fun in the sun.

Hope to see you soon again!

I did the IDC with Course Director Andy Auer at Dive Asia Phuket, Thailand in February 2012.
It was a very good experience.
Andy runs a very well organized, well conducted IDC program. His love for diving and teaching diving is inspiring and contagious and he has a vast knowledge base; I was honored to have him as a teacher. The two day free pre-course preparation days were one of the many signs of his professionalism and his drive to create excellent scuba instructors. I felt very well prepared going into the I.E. As Arnold Schwarzenegger once said: “Luck is for the ill-prepared”.
We didn’t need luck! :)
Special thanks to the Staff Instructors Artin (‘the whiz kid’) and Master Instructor Guy (aka Chief Wiggum). They helped us along a lot as well.
Guy even spent his free time helping us study and practice. Much appreciated!
The accommodation at Kata Big Rock was good value for money also, and the staff was very friendly and helpful.
I would definitely recommend Course Director Andy Auer and Dive Asia Phuket to anyone interested in doing the IDC, or any other scuba course for that matter.
